Shannon Dallas – Paralympian
After a fall on a building site in June 2000, Shannon Dallas became a Paraplegic. Instead of being overcome by life in a wheelchair, Shannon has adopted a “No Limits” approach whereby literally, no river is too deep and no mountain is too high. Shannon Dallas is a wheelchair athlete dedicated to achieving the ultimate rewards that the sport of snow skiing has to offer. Shannon first experienced wheelchair skiing in August 2001 where he was scouted on the Australian snowfields by the Paralympic team captain and was invited to attend a recognized talent camp. As a result of this week, Shannon was invited to attend the Disabled Winter Sport Australian Canadian Training Program in Canada from January to March 2002. Shannon represented Australia in the Canadian Nationals, winning silver medals in both the Slalom and Downhill events earning him a position on the Australian National Disabled Alpine Ski Team. Since then has competed in various events as far as to represent Australia at the World Championships in 2009.
